It’s been so amazing to see the progress that has been made in immunotherapy over the four years that I’ve been aware of it. It’s still an emerging treatment – we don’t know who’s going to get the best response and who’s going to get a short-term recovery. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

If a clinician has prescribed you anabolic steroids, they will be safe for you to take – provided you use them as directed. The problem is that anabolic steroids (often simply called “steroids” or “roids”) are often used in an unlicensed way. They are used by bodybuilders and athletes to enhance performance and build up muscle. You may find that you feel more anxious or emotional while you are taking steroids, and that you feel tired and low for a while after you stop taking them.

Topical treatment

Watchful waiting may also be recommended if your general health means you are unable to receive any form of treatment. Watchful waiting and active surveillance are different approaches to keeping an eye on the cancer and starting treatment only if it shows signs of getting worse or causing saymptoms. Other members may include physiotherapists, dieticians and occupational therapists. Routinely screening all men to check their prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels is a controversial subject in the international medical community.

• Make sure any change to your dose of steroid is updated on the card.
• If your lifestyle makes it difficult to for you to do this, try discussing it with your doctor.
• They should disappear after you finish treatment, but in the meantime, look after your oral health.

Talk to a doctor if you (or someone taking this medicine), show any signs of mental problems. This is particularly important if you are depressed, or might be thinking about suicide. In a few cases, mental problems have happened when doses are being lowered or stopped. The name of your medicine is Prednisolone 25mg Tablets (called Prednisolone throughout this leaflet).
